title: Audre Lorde /poems
description: The project is drawing inspiration from the poetry volume of Audre Lorde, american writer and activist. Publication contains 12 personally selected poems highlighting the experiences of queer and poc communities. Separating the expressions that represent the pride and freedom of marginalized groups from the rest of the text creates a personal relationship between the experiencer and reality. The translucent material puts them in the position of being “removed” from the system, but the unique nature of the print and symbiosis with traditional paper modifies the perception of the poem. It suggests to focus on forms separate to the classical layout and creates intimate power to the community, beyond the discrimination. The materials used are cheap or recycled to emphasise the author's stance on poetry, and reflect the nature of the actions of those who fought for social liberation.
